Cooking Up a Great Year!

As back to school looms, I'm starting to think about how to eat healthy when 3 out of the 5 days, I'm running out the door 20 minutes after I get home to take my daughter off to one activity or another.  I know many of you are in the exact same boat.  It's so easy to drive through somewhere, but it's not the healthiest choice. So I'm going to make it a goal to USE MY CROCK POT!

I have been combing the Internet looking for crock pot recipes with 3 ingredients or less.  And I think I found some great ones.  Today, I'm going to share the one that I think will be the easiest and the tastiest!

Doesn't that sound delicious?  I can see it over lettuce and taco chips as a chicken taco salad or, if your family is into walking tacos, it would taste great with nacho cheese Doritos and cheese and lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream and a dollop of guacamole.  YUM!

To help you cook up a great year, I'm going to gift you today with this Halloween-themed freebie.  I know, I know, HALLOWEEN?!?  Summer's not even over yet.  But, hey, we're teachers, and we're always planning a month ahead, and before you know it, it will be the beginning of October.

The idea for Super Saturday is that we will offer one of our bundled resources for 50% off.  Today, I'd like to draw your attention to my Journeys Print and Go ELA bundle.

I started making these resources correlated to the Journeys  reading series last spring because I felt the children needed more skills practice.  I can't stress enough that, although I did correlate these resources to Journeys, they are all skill-based, meaning that they will work in ANY first grade classroom, whether or not you use the Journeys series.

Last year, I used these sheets as worksheets or assessments, but this year, I have decided to use them as interactive notebooks since I include so many pages that are interactive in nature.  The pages are a bit larger than a spiral notebook, so if that is something that bothers you, you will need to copy the pages at a reduced sized.  I would guess at about 90% on the copy machine.

Each amazing unit contain many activities that cover  these basic skills:  high frequency words, phonics, grammar, and comprehension.

If you'd like to sample some of the pages in these units, you can find them in the previews of lessons 3, lesson 4, lesson 5, and a few are included in the preview for Unit 1 bundle. You can click on any of the pictures above to visit my custom category.

Aloha August Sale Day 2 - Free & 50 Friday

What does Free & 50 mean?  Well, it means you are going to get a free sample from a product, and then you can get that product for 50% off when you fall in love with the sample!  Sweet deal, yes?  Yes!

For my Free and 50 offering, I'm trying to think ahead a bit and decided to put my Halloween  MegaPack on sale.  This fantastic resource is a bundle of two of my math-based centers that focus on relating addition and subtraction and practicing subtraction, and two of my language arts-based centers that focus on adjectives and nouns and verbs.  These are perfect for centers or small group work, with accompanying printables that you can use with the whole class.

To get your free sample from this resource, this adorable Old Mrs. Witch shape art project that goes along with my adjective resource, you need to click on the picture below and then click on the preview button.  From there, you can download the pieces to make this and the follow up adjective activity!

Be sure to type freefiftyfri in the search bar on TpT to find this and other great samples and 50% off resources!

If you haven't entered the rafflecopters for the 50 dollar TpT gift certificates  yet, be sure to do it now!
